The mission of LIMBS is to enable amputees in the poorest countries in the world to become productive, self- sufficient members of society. LIMBS accomplishes this mission by designing, creating and testing highly-functional, durable and low-cost prosthetic devices in our own and university laboratories in the United States, including the University of Texas at El Paso, home of the LIMBS research and development efforts.
The LIMBS Summit provides an opportunity to learn about the progress being made by various LIMBS research teams. It is also an opportunity to let other university research teams from across the US to share their research and developments on Modular Prosthetic and Orthotic Technologies, leading to a more uniform means of collaboration for the future.
